The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, has taken delivery of its Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund)-sponsored medical students’ hostel following the completion of the project and its formal handover by the project consultant.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ebunoluwa Aderonke Adejuyigbe, described the development as a landmark achievement, noting that the facility was the first hostel built and fully owned by the university.
Adejuyigbe said the completion of the hostel, barely a little over one year into her tenure, marked a significant milestone in the institution’s infrastructural development efforts.
“This is a landmark achievement for our university. For the first time, UNIMED has a hostel that was built and is fully owned by the university. This is a significant step forward in our commitment to providing a more conducive environment for our students,” she said.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed appreciation to the Federal Government, particularly the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, for providing intervention funding through TETFund to facilitate the construction of the hostel.

The project is expected to strengthen the university’s accommodation infrastructure and support efforts to provide medical students with a more conducive environment for learning and academic development.
