Abducted FUBK Student Rescued by Security Operatives in Kebbi

Security operatives have successfully rescued Augustine Madubiya, a 400-level student of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK), who was abducted by unidentified gunmen in the early hours of Tuesday.

The development was confirmed by the Director of Security, Cabinet Office, Abdulrahman Zagga, during a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday. Zagga disclosed that the rescue operation was carried out following a directive from Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, who ordered immediate and coordinated action from all security agencies in the state.

“I am pleased to report that the FUBK student who was abducted yesterday has been rescued in a joint operation conducted by security personnel,” Zagga announced.

He emphasized that the governor had issued a firm directive to ensure the victim’s safe return, stressing that all available state security resources were mobilized to facilitate the operation.

According to Zagga, the student is in stable condition and currently undergoing routine medical examination as a precautionary measure.

He extended appreciation to the management of the university, the local community, and the victim’s family for their support, patience, and prayers throughout the incident.

Zagga also lauded Governor Idris for his decisive leadership and commended the gallant efforts of the security operatives who executed the operation.
