Abdulkadir Kure University VC Declares University Fastest Growing in Nigeria

The Vice Chancellor of Abdulkadir Kure University (AKUM), Professor Mohammed Aliyu Paiko, has described the institution as the fastest growing public university in Nigeria.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Niger State Council, Professor Paiko highlighted the university's remarkable growth, from 100 students in its inaugural year to over 700 students currently enrolled.

The Vice Chancellor attributed the university's success to its focus on entrepreneurship and specialized education, citing initiatives such as the Abdulkadir Kure Centre for Basic and Professional Studies and the GreenTech ICT Hub. With over 3,500 applications received for the 2025/2026 academic session, AKUM is poised for continued growth and development.

Professor Paiko welcomed collaboration with professional bodies, particularly media practitioners, to further enhance the university's offerings. The Chairman of NUJ, Niger State Council, Comrade Abu Nmodu, assured the Vice Chancellor of the Union's continuous support towards the growth and development of the university.
