ABSU Commences 2026/2027 Post-UTME/Direct Entry Screening, Announces Eligibility and Registration Guidelines

Abia State University (ABSU) has announced the commencement of its online Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise for candidates seeking admission into its regular degree programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

Abia State University (ABSU) has announced the commencement of its online Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise for candidates seeking admission into its regular degree programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

According to the university, all eligible applicants are required to complete the screening process via its official portal as part of the admission consideration framework.

Eligibility Criteria

The university stated that the following categories of candidates are qualified for the screening exercise:

  • Candidates who selected ABSU as first choice, second choice, or did not initially choose the institution but are willing to effect a change of institution to ABSU
  • Candidates who scored 150 and above in the 2026 UTME
  • Candidates with a minimum of five credit passes in relevant O’Level subjects in line with programme requirements
  • All Direct Entry candidates applying for admission into degree programmes

Registration Procedure

Candidates are to register online by visiting https://abiastateuniversity.edu.ng and making a non-refundable payment of ₦2,000 only.

Payment can be made through any of the following channels:

  • ABSU Microfinance Bank, Uturu
  • V Signature Bank
  • First Bank of Nigeria Plc
  • Ecobank Plc
  • Zenith Bank Plc
  • Fidelity Bank Plc
  • Union Bank Plc
  • United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc
  • Bank debit cards (online payment option)

The university emphasized that failure to complete the registration process will automatically disqualify candidates from being considered for admission.
