The Senate of Abia State University (ABSU) has approved the resumption of academic activities for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The decision was taken at the 284th Regular Meeting of the Senate, held on Tuesday, 18 November 2025. This was disclosed in an official statement signed by the Registrar, Dr. Acho Elendu.

According to the university, the new academic session will officially commence on Monday, 1 December 2025, with a structured timetable released to guide students and stakeholders.

Under the approved schedule, new students are expected to arrive and begin registration on Monday, 1 December 2025, while returning students will resume and complete their registration on Saturday, 6 December 2025. First semester lectures are scheduled to begin on Monday, 8 December 2025.

The university has also fixed Friday, 12 December 2025, for the orientation programme for newly admitted students. The Christmas break will commence on Friday, 19 December 2025, with lectures resuming after the holiday on Monday, 12 January 2026.

Management emphasized that only students who have fully paid their fees and completed all registration requirements will be recognized as bona fide students and granted access to university facilities.

Students, parents, and guardians have been advised to carefully note the resumption timetable and ensure strict compliance with all university regulations.
