Achievers University has taken a major step forward in its digital transformation agenda by conducting an intensive staff training programme on Google Workspace for Education, reinforcing its commitment to technology-driven teaching and administrative excellence through a strategic partnership with iWorld Networks.

The capacity-building workshop brought together academic and administrative staff from all faculties and units, focusing on mastering Google’s suite of collaborative cloud tools—including Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, Classroom, Gemini, Notebook LM, Keep, and Calendar. The sessions aimed to enhance operational efficiency while equipping lecturers with practical skills to integrate digital tools into classroom delivery effectively.
The training is part of the phased implementation of Google for Education solutions at the University. Through its partnership with iWorld Networks, Achievers University has successfully migrated its institutional email system to Google Workspace, creating a secure, unified digital communication framework for both staff and students.
Speaking on the initiative, Ag. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Oyesoji Aremu described the training as a pivotal milestone in the University’s technological advancement.

“Technology is no longer optional in higher education; it is foundational. By equipping our staff with modern digital tools, we are enhancing the quality, flexibility, and reach of our teaching. Our students will benefit from more interactive classrooms, seamless access to learning materials, and stronger academic engagement,” he stated.
Following the training, staff members are expected to implement Google Workspace tools in their teaching, supervision, and student engagement processes. This includes hosting virtual and hybrid lectures via Google Meet, organising coursework and feedback through Google Classroom, enabling real-time collaborative assignments with Docs and Sheets, and maintaining structured academic calendars and communication channels.
The initiative is poised to have a significant impact on students, improving access to course materials, fostering collaborative learning, enabling timely feedback, and supporting blended learning models. It also enhances digital literacy among students, preparing them for technology-driven workplaces after graduation.

As higher education worldwide increasingly embraces digital ecosystems, Achievers University is positioning itself as a forward-looking institution committed to innovation. By combining infrastructure development with human capacity building, the University is modernising operations and transforming the overall student learning experience.
