The announcement was made during the 134th meeting of the University Senate on Thursday, 29th January 2026, at the Senate Chamber.
Promotions Overview:
Professors: Three staff members were elevated to the rank of Professor:
Dr. Stephen Aduwamai Lagu – Linguistics
Dr. Zainab Buba Mshelia – Ecology
Dr. Donald Zira John – Numerical Analysis
Associate Professors (Readers): Six staff members were promoted to Associate Professor:
Dr. Asiyina Elihu – Parasitology and Public Health
Dr. Mauda Ahmed – Taxation
Dr. Lucky Benson – Public Policy and Governance
Dr. Thandime Apollos Garba – Fish Breeding and Genetics
Dr. Yusufu Gambo – Applied Artificial Intelligence
Dr. Denis Basila – Accounting
In his address, Professor Clement congratulated the promoted academics and urged them to demonstrate heightened commitment to their duties. He emphasized the importance of producing impactful research that contributes to national development and enhances the global ranking of ADSU.
