The Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) officially welcomed 769 new students into its academic fold during its 8th Matriculation Ceremony held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Dele Ezeoba Multipurpose Hall.

The event, which formally transitions the new intake into the status of "Admirables," was presided over by the University Registrar, Commodore M. Mankilik (rtd), who led the matriculants in their statutory oath of induction.

In his keynote address, Vice-Chancellor Professor CBN Ogbogbo characterized the modern university as a dynamic "factory" where knowledge is both generated and disseminated. He urged the students to view their time at ADUN as a transformative period designed to equip them with 21st-century problem-solving skills.

"The training you receive here has the potential to shape the direction and character of your future lives," Professor Ogbogbo stated, congratulating the "ADUN Luminaries" and their parents on this milestone.

Guest lecturer Professor Okpeh Okpeh (Jnr) provided a visionary charge to the students, emphasizing that a university is defined by its values rather than its physical infrastructure. His address highlighted two critical pillars for success:

Discipline and Time Management: Identifying these as the bedrock of academic excellence.

Intellectual Flexibility: Encouraging students to prioritize the quality of ideas and critical thinking over rigid, rote learning.

Professor Okpeh also addressed parents and guardians, advising them to grant their wards the necessary independence to foster maturity and full integration into the university environment.

The ceremony concluded with a reaffirmation from the university leadership of their commitment to providing a secure, world-class environment for intellectual growth. As a burgeoning Federal University, ADUN continues its mission of "Raising Luminary Leaders" for the nation.
