Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has officially announced the commencement of the 2025/2026 academic session, with all activities set to begin on Monday, January 5, 2026.

The university management issued a special bulletin on Friday, January 2, 2026, outlining key dates and instructions for both new and returning students.

The bulletin confirms the schedule as approved in the university's academic calendar:

Registration for all students (undergraduate and postgraduate) will begin on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Lectures are scheduled to commence one week later on Monday, January 12, 2026.

Accommodation and Financial Aid Procedures

The university management highlighted specific instructions regarding accommodation and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund):

The accommodation portal will open for bed space bookings on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Students who applied for the NELFund are advised to make their standard registration payments upfront to meet deadlines. The university assured beneficiaries they will be refunded once the institution receives the official NELFund disbursements.
