Ahmadu Bello University Condoles with Family of Late Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has extended its condolences to the family of the late Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, describing his demise as a significant loss that has left "a great void in our hearts and minds".

A delegation from the university, led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Advancement, Research and Innovation, Prof. Sanusi Aliyu Rafindadi, delivered a condolence letter to the bereaved family at the deceased's residence in Kano on July 22, 2025.

The university remembered the deceased as a great education philanthropist who made significant contributions to its development. Notably, he contributed financially to the establishment of ABU's School of Basic and Remedial Studies (SBRS) in Funtua and the CISCO building on the main campus, which was later named after him. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Dantata was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate by ABU on January 20, 1990.

Prof. Rafindadi described the late Dantata as an extraordinary gentleman and philanthropist whose legacies would continue to touch lives. He emphasized that educating people is one of the best ways to impact their lives, and Dantata's contributions to ABU would forever be remembered.

The Secretary of the late business mogul, Mustapha Junaid, expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor and the University Management for their condolences. He thanked the delegation for appreciating the works and deeds of the late Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, noting that the family was not even aware of some of the projects carried out by Dantata until after his death.

A prayer session was held after the presentation of the condolence letter, led by the Chief Imam of ABU Central Mosque, Dr. Sa'ad Abubakar Musa. He prayed for the deceased to be granted Jannatil Firdausi and for the bereaved family to be given the fortitude to bear the loss .
