Ahmadu Bello University Inducts 33 Pioneer Graduates of Medical Laboratory Science and Radiography

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has held a historic induction ceremony for 33 pioneer graduates from its Departments of Medical Laboratory Science and Radiography.

The combined induction ceremony took place on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the Yusufu Bala Usman Hall, Main Campus, Samaru Zaria .

The Department of Medical Laboratory Science had 22 inductees, while the Department of Radiography had 11. The induction ceremony marked a significant milestone for the two departments, which began in 2017 with humble beginnings and have since gained full accreditation and expanded their staff capacity from four to over 30 .

 

Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Prof. Kabiru Bala, described the event as historic and congratulated the inductees on their academic accomplishments. Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Ahmed Doko Ibrahim, the Vice-Chancellor expressed satisfaction with the growth of the two departments .

The induction ceremony was attended by principal officers and management staff of the university. Awards were presented to the best graduating students in Medical Laboratory Science, Sulaiman Ahmad Halima, and Radiography, Abubakar Usman Gimba .

 

The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) and the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN) conducted the induction ceremony, with the Registrars of MLSCN and RRBN represented by Dr. Akinwale Akinlabi and Dr. Ejimofor Malachy Chukwudi, respectively .
