Ahmadu Bello University Sets Record Straight on Handover Ceremony

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has issued a press statement to clarify a misleading report regarding the handover ceremony between outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, and incoming Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Ahmed.

The report, published by Education Monitor on April 30, 2025, claimed that Prof. Adamu inherited 300 untreated files. However, the university's management denies this, stating that the new Vice-Chancellor met a clear table with no pending files except new ones arising after assumption of office.

The university's management has described the report as misleading and mischievous, emphasizing that the handover ceremony was largely ceremonial. ABU's Public Affairs Directorate signed the statement to set the record straight .
