Ajayi Crowther University Governing Council Ratifies Appointment of Two New Deputy Vice-Chancellors

The Governing Council of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, at its emergency meeting held on Monday, 16th March, 2026, approved the appointments of Prof. Afolake Atinuke Olanbiwoninu of the Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Prof. Adeyemi Olukayode Binuyo of the Department of Mathematics as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration).

The appointments were conveyed in separate memos signed by the University Registrar, Dr. Bode Olofinmuagun. The appointments followed their election on February 23, 2026, during a special meeting of the University Senate.

According to the memos, the appointments are for an initial term of two years, renewable for another two-year term, in line with the provisions of the University Law (2003), page 37, Section 4, Subsection 2.

The memos further outlined the responsibilities of the Deputy Vice-Chancellors, as stipulated in the University Law (2003), page 38, Section 4, Subsection 3. These include assisting the Vice-Chancellor in the day-to-day administration of the university, as well as performing other duties as may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor.
