AKSU Gets NUC Approval for Faculty of Law

Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to establish a Faculty of Law, offering a full-time Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme at its Main Campus from the 2025/2026 academic session.

The approval follows a resource verification exercise by NUC, assessing AKSU's staffing, infrastructure, and resources. The Faculty of Law will comprise three departments: Private and Property Law, Jurisprudence and International Law, and Commercial and Industrial Law.

This development marks a significant milestone under Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor OtoAbasi E. Akpan's leadership, who has also facilitated the creation of other faculties and institutes. AKSU management thanked NUC for the approval and reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence and quality service delivery.
