ASUP Gives FG 21-Day Ultimatum to Resolve Polytechnic Issues

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has issued a 21-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to address several outstanding issues affecting the polytechnic education sector.

The ultimatum was announced by ASUP Chairman, Monday Ojo, on behalf of the union's National President, Shammah Kpanja.

If the demands are not met within the 21-day ultimatum period, ASUP may declare a trade dispute and withdraw services nationwide, potentially disrupting academic activities. The union expressed frustration over the government's inaction and accused security agents of unlawfully disrupting union activities .

ASUP Zone C Coordinator, Mr. Masopa Nurudeen, highlighted the severe financial hardship faced by polytechnic lecturers, citing inadequate salaries and financial difficulties .
