ATBU Alumni Association Rejects Proposal to Convert University to Conventional Status

The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) National Alumni Association has expressed deep concern over a bill before the National Assembly proposing to convert the university from its current status as a specialized University of Technology into a conventional university.

The association believes that such a move would undermine the original vision and purpose for which ATBU and other Universities of Technology were established. These institutions were founded to drive technological advancement, industrial growth, and national development through science, engineering, and innovation.

The Alumni Association is urging the National Assembly to reject the proposed bill and preserve the university's mandate.
