ATBU Bauchi Hosts National Conference on Education and Artificial Intelligence

The Faculty of Technology Education at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi held its inaugural National Conference on Education, focusing on "The Future of Education in an Era of Artificial Intelligence."

The conference, attended by academics from Nigeria and beyond, featured Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, as the Keynote Speaker.

ATBU Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibrahim Hassan Garba, described the conference as a game-changer and emphasized the need to incorporate artificial intelligence knowledge into school curricula at all levels.

Professor Pantami highlighted AI's transformative impact on the world, stating that Nigeria cannot ignore its significance. He noted that AI will not replace jobs but rather those with AI knowledge will lead future job markets.

The conference was chaired by Professor Mansur Usman Malumfashi, who discussed AI's importance in modern education. The Speaker of Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Y. Sulaiman, praised the conference's timeliness and highlighted the state's commitment to educational development.

The Dean, Faculty of Education, Professor Babawuro Shuaibu, stated that the conference aimed to advance knowledge and increase research horizons. The event honored dignitaries, including former deans of the faculty.
