Bayero University in Kano, Nigeria has announced a three-week break for students to participate in the 2023 General Election monitored by myschoolnews.

In accordance with a circular from the Federal Ministry of Education through the National Universities Commission, the Senate of Bayero University has approved the closure of the University and suspension of academic activities from February 22 to March 14, 2023.

This is to allow students to exercise their civic rights and vote in the upcoming election. The university management is encouraging all students, staff, and the general public to participate in the election and wishes everyone a free and fair voting process.

Students are advised to vacate the campuses on February 22, 2023, as no municipal services will be provided in the hostels during the period.

PUBLIC HOLIDAY

Reference to the circular No: NUC/ES/138/Vol.6/178 of 3rd February, 2023 from the Federal Ministry of Education through the National Universities Commission. The Senate, Bayero University, Kano at its 401st meeting held today 20th February has approved the closure of the University and suspension of Academic activities from 22nd February to 14th March, 2023.

This is to allow students to go and exercise their civic right for the 2023 General Election. Therefore, all students are advised to vacate the Campuses on the 22nd February, 2023 as no Municipal services will be provided in the hostels during the period.
