Chrisland University VC Strengthens Ties with Egbaland through Alake Visit
Chrisland University Professor Oyedunni Sola Arulogun, paid a familiarization visit to His Royal Majesty, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, CFR, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the historic Ake Palace, Abeokuta.
The Vice-Chancellor of Chrisland University, Professor Oyedunni Sola Arulogun, paid a familiarization visit to His Royal Majesty, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, CFR, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the historic Ake Palace, Abeokuta.
The visit, which aimed to deepen collaboration between the university and the Egba traditional institution, highlighted the institution’s commitment to fostering cultural and educational advancement.
Accompanied by key university officials, including the Registrar, Mr. Samuel Omotoso, Acting Bursar, Mr. Moses Esah, and Acting Dean of the College of Law, Dr. Kayode Akinsola, Professor Arulogun was warmly received by the Asiwaju Baamofin of Egbaland, Chief Sunday Oduntan.
In her address, Professor Arulogun expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and reaffirmed Chrisland University's dedication to strengthening town-and-gown relationships. She commended the rich cultural heritage of Egbaland and pledged the university’s ongoing contribution to its development, building on the legacy of her predecessor, Professor Chinedum Peace Babalola, who served for seven years.
Oba Gbadebo lauded Chrisland University’s leadership for its consistent engagement with Egbaland, assuring Professor Arulogun of his support and offering blessings for her tenure. The monarch expressed confidence in her ability to sustain and expand the university’s legacy of excellence.
The event also saw the presence of prominent chiefs, including the Balogun of Egbaland, Chief Atobatele, and the Apena of Egbaland, Chief Alani Bankole, emphasizing the significance of the visit.
