Coal City University, Enugu, has dismissed recent claims that it admitted students into a Law programme, describing the report as false and misleading.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the university addressed the publication titled “Panic As Coal City University Allegedly Admits Law Students”, clarifying that the report does not reflect the institution’s position.
The management emphasized that Coal City University does not operate a Faculty of Law and has not established a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) programme. Accordingly, no student has been admitted to study Law at the university.

The statement further noted that the publication failed to seek verification or clarification from the university before release. “The University categorically states that the publication is false and misleading. For the avoidance of doubt, Coal City University has not established a Faculty of Law and does not run a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) programme. Consequently, the University has not admitted any students into a Law programme,” the statement read.
The management urged the public to disregard the report in its entirety and reaffirmed its commitment to the regulations of the National Universities Commission, as well as to maintaining high standards of academic integrity and excellence.
