COEASU South-South Zonal Delegates Visit Federal College of Education, Obudu

The South-South Zonal Delegates of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Provost of the Federal College of Education, Obudu, Dr. Hisham Aliyu Mohammed, on Wednesday, 12th November 2025, engaging with the college’s management team in the Provost’s Board Room.

The session opened with a prayer led by Comrade Dr. Boniface Ellah, Director of Academic Programmes at FCE Obudu. Dr. Hisham Aliyu expressed gratitude to the delegates for their visit, extending warm greetings on behalf of the college and the people of Obudu Local Government Area. He assured the team of a secure and serene environment, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to fostering academic excellence, peace, and collaboration.

Comrade Dr. Akpokabowei Oweisana, South-South Zonal Coordinator of COEASU, led the visiting delegation, conveying appreciation for the hospitality extended. The visit featured an extensive interactive session where both sides exchanged insights and ideas on issues of mutual interest, particularly matters concerning the academic staff union and institutional development.

Dignitaries present included Dr. Evans Osakwe Ijenya, Registrar; Mr. Joseph Eba Ogar, Bursar; Dr. James Odu, College Librarian; alongside staff members and visiting delegates. The proceedings concluded with a closing prayer by Comrade Joshua Bisong, COEASU Chairman, Federal College of Education (Technical), Ekiadolor.

The visit was widely regarded as a gesture of solidarity and mutual respect, reinforcing COEASU’s commitment to strengthening partnerships and promoting institutional growth across the South-South zone of Nigeria’s Colleges of Education system.
