COOU Appoints Dr. Chukwunonso Ekesiobi as Head of Alumni Relations and Advancement Unit

Dr. Chukwunonso Ekesiobi, a member of the Department of Economics, has been appointed the Head of the Alumni Relations and Advancement Unit at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU). He is the first alumnus to lead the university’s alumni office.

Dr. Ekesiobi graduated with First-Class Honours from COOU and went on to earn a Master’s and Doctorate degree in Energy and Policy Economics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. A prolific researcher, he has published extensively in reputable local and international outlets.

Before this appointment, he served as the Associate Director of the COOU Research Management Office, showcasing his commitment to academic leadership and institutional service. He is an active member of professional associations, including the Chartered Institute of Statisticians of Nigeria (CISON), the Nigerian Association for Energy Economics (NAEE), and the Nigerian Economic Society (NES), where he currently serves as National Assistant Secretary and Students Liaison Officer.

In his new role, Dr. Ekesiobi is expected to galvanize COOU alumni, strengthen ties, and create new avenues for collaboration, innovation, and impact to benefit the university.
