Federal University Lokoja Partners with SUG and Kogi Blood Transfusion Service for Student Blood Drive
The University Health Services, Federal University Lokoja (FUL), in collaboration with the Students’ Union Government and the Kogi State National Blood Transfusion Service, organized a blood drive program and officially launched a Blood Donor Club for students.

In his opening remarks, Vice-Chancellor Professor Olayemi Akinwumi encouraged students to view blood donation as a humanitarian responsibility, emphasizing the life-saving impact of their contributions.

The program featured health talks from key stakeholders, including Dr Mu’azu, Executive Director of Kogi State Primary Healthcare (represented by Dr Bola Kelvin Jonah), Mr Oguntuase Bode Jacob, Kogi State Chairman of the National Blood Transfusion Service, and Dr Mrs Chinenye Oche Otorkpa, Director of University Health Services, FUL.
At the conclusion of the program, eligible and willing students donated blood, reinforcing the university’s commitment to community health and social responsibility.
