The Department of Entrepreneurship Studies at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) has showcased the outcomes of its recent seminar and workshop programme for postgraduate students, undergraduates, and staff to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, during a courtesy visit to her office.

The delegation, led by Dr. Jacinta Nwangwu, Acting Head of Department, congratulated Prof. Omenugha on her appointment and praised her visionary leadership. Dr. Nwangwu highlighted that the seminar and workshop yielded innovative student-created products, including an anti-dandruff formula, car wash solution, and liquid soap, developed through practical training sessions aimed at promoting entrepreneurial skills and self-reliance.

Prof. Omenugha personally inspected the products and expressed satisfaction with their quality and creativity. She commended the department for its hands-on approach to learning and encouraged them to increase student participation to benefit a larger population. Dr. Nwangwu also requested additional institutional support and certification opportunities to further prepare students for real-world ventures and employment generation.
In her remarks, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized the university’s guiding philosophy of the “3Vs” — Values, Viability, and Visibility — urging staff to ensure impactful initiatives keep the university in the spotlight. She recommended partnerships with members of the State House of Assembly to integrate the programme into constituency projects, which could sponsor more students and drive innovation. Prof. Omenugha also suggested selling the products at affordable prices to create social impact and foster sustainability, affirming continued support for entrepreneurial growth at the University.
