On September 2, 2024, Dr. Stephen Terungwa Hwande, Chief Medical Director of Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), called for a renewed focus on excellence among the Management and Staff of the Institute of Health and Technology. The address took place during a meeting in the Institute's conference room, aimed at reviewing preparations for the upcoming registration and orientation of new students.
Dr. Hwande emphasized the importance of upholding high standards to drive the Institute's core ideals. He assured the staff of his commitment to enhancing educational resources by providing free internet services to support both learning and research. Additionally, Dr. Hwande donated a utility vehicle to facilitate official movements and streamline administrative operations.
Reiterating BSUTH's commitment to becoming a comprehensive healthcare provider, Dr. Hwande highlighted recent additions such as mammographic services for breast cancer screening and Hepatitis B viral load testing.
In response, Dr. James Terwase Ihongo, Provost of the Institute, expressed gratitude for Dr. Hwande’s ongoing support and reaffirmed the Institute's dedication to maintaining excellence in its educational and operational endeavors.
