Dr. Stephen Hwande Receives CONHESS/CONMESS Approval for BSUTH Staff
The Chief Medical Director of Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), Dr. Stephen Terungwa Hwande, celebrated the approval of over ₦800 million for the implementation of CONHESS/CONMESS and payment of staff arrears.
Dr. Stephen Terungwa Hwande, the Chief Medical Director of Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), received the long-awaited approval for the implementation of the Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) and Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS). This approval, granted by the Benue State Executive Council, allows for the disbursement of over ₦800 million for outstanding staff arrears.
The letter, signed by DCNS. Serumun Deborah Aber Esq., confirmed that the approval followed deliberations at the state executive council meeting held on Friday, December 20, 2024. This decision reflects the state's commitment to resolving financial challenges faced by healthcare workers.
Dr. Hwande expressed gratitude to the Benue State Government, emphasizing the positive impact this development will have on the hospital's operations and staff morale. The funds will be used to clear arrears, including hazard allowances, relativity allowances, promotion arrears, and death benefit arrears.
With this breakthrough, Dr. Hwande has assured staff that December salaries are being processed promptly. The disbursement process has already begun, signaling a renewed sense of motivation among healthcare workers.
