Faculty of Science Pledges Total Support to New Vice-Chancellor of Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University

The Dean, Faculty of Science, Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu University, Professor David Mrumun Tyona, on Tuesday, 24th February, 2026 led members of the faculty to congratulate Professor Timothy Terseer Alabar on his appointment as Vice-Chancellor of the institution.

Speaking during the visit, Professor Tyona assured the Vice-Chancellor of the Faculty’s full cooperation and unwavering support, stressing that members would align their activities with the Vision and Mission of the University, to ensure continued growth and academic excellence.

The Dean disclosed that the Faculty of Science, established in 1992, currently comprises of five departments offering 12 undergraduate programmes. He noted that over the years, the faculty has contributed significantly to the academic development of the University.

Professor Tyona, however, outlined some of the challenges confronting the faculty, including inadequate staffing, insufficient equipment, inadequate laboratories and unstable power supply. He appealed to the Vice-Chancellor to intervene in addressing these concerns to enhance teaching, research and service delivery.

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alabar, thanked the Dean and members of the faculty for the visit and their show of solidarity. He appreciated their commitment to the advancement of the University education and assured them that Management would carefully consider the issues raised in line with available resources and institutional priorities.
