FUPRE Gets NUC Approval for Four New Undergraduate Programmes
The Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), has announced that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved four new undergraduate degree programmes.
According to the University, the approval was conveyed in a letter dated September 11, 2026, following a resource assessment visit by a panel of experts.

The newly approved programmes are:
1. http://B.Sc. Maritime Science
2. http://B.Sc. Meteorology
3. http://B.Sc. Physics with Electronics
4. http://B.Eng. Mechatronic Engineering
The programmes will commence in the 2026/2027 academic session and will be offered on a full-time basis.
While Mechatronic Engineering will run for five academic sessions, the other three programmes will last four years.
The approval expands FUPRE's academic offerings in maritime studies, meteorology, physics and engineering, creating additional study options for prospective undergraduates.
