The Federal Cooperative College (FCC), Ibadan, has formally matriculated its new students for the 2025/2026 academic session, reaffirming its commitment to academic excellence, cooperative principles, and disciplined conduct.

During the ceremony in Eleyele, students took the matriculation oath and received a policy briefing that outlined the college’s expectations and standards.

In his address, Provost Dr. Abdulganiyu Ibrahim urged students to prioritise integrity, responsibility, and personal growth, stressing that admission is an opportunity to develop leadership and entrepreneurial skills. He warned against cultism, drug abuse, and inappropriate behaviour, assuring that strict disciplinary measures would be enforced against offenders.

Represented by Dr. Onuyi Majebi, Dean of the School of Applied Sciences, the Provost reminded students that FCC Ibadan holds the distinction of being Nigeria’s oldest cooperative training institution, highlighting the institution’s rich legacy of nurturing leaders.

Students were encouraged to make use of official channels for conflict resolution, uphold religious tolerance, and embrace the college’s culture of cooperation and societal contribution.

“Admission into this college is not just a pathway to employment but a preparation for leadership, enterprise creation, and societal transformation,” the Provost stated.

The ceremony underscores FCC Ibadan’s continued focus on shaping disciplined, innovative, and socially responsible graduates.
