Federal Polytechnic Oko Dismissed Lecturer Mr. Ekene Olugburu from the Services Due To Illegal sale of a polytechnic tractor bucket

The Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic Oko has officially dismissed Mr. Ekene Olugburu from the polytechnic’s employment, effective October 28, 2025

Mr. Olugburu, formerly a Principal Technical Officer, was dismissed following a thorough investigation by a duly constituted disciplinary committee. The investigation established a case of gross misconduct against him, involving:

  • Conspiracy and sabotage
  • Stealing
  • Illegal sale of a polytechnic tractor bucket, its accessories, and ceiling fans

These actions constitute serious acts of misconduct under Rule 100402 of the Public Service Rules, for which the ultimate penalty of dismissal is prescribed under Rule 100407.
