The Federal Polytechnic Oko has announced a three-day Career Development Workshop aimed at strengthening students’ preparedness for future employment and professional growth.
The programme, organised through the Directorate of Guidance, Counselling and Career Services, is themed “Career Exploration” and is designed to expose students to practical career pathways and job opportunities aligned with their academic disciplines.
The initiative is being driven under the leadership of the Rector, Chioma Irene Awuzie, as part of the institution’s broader strategy to enhance graduate employability and career readiness.

The workshop is scheduled to hold from April 15 to April 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. daily at the Auditorium Extension Site within the institution.
According to the programme structure, Day One will feature students from the School of Applied Sciences and the School of Science Technology. Day Two will bring together students from the School of Arts, Design and Printing, School of Information Technology, School of Business Studies, and School of Financial Studies. Day Three will be dedicated to students from the School of Engineering Technology and the School of Environmental Technology.
The institution stated that participation is compulsory for all students, stressing that the workshop is a critical component of career planning and professional development in an increasingly competitive labour market.
