The management of the Federal University Dutse (FUD) has issued a public disclaimer warning members of the public against a fraudulent Facebook page falsely created in the name of the Vice-Chancellor-designate, Professor Ahmad Muhammed Gumel.

In a statement released by the university, management disclosed that its attention was drawn to the existence of the fake social media account allegedly operated by scammers with the intent to deceive and defraud unsuspecting individuals.
The university clarified that the Facebook page is not owned, authorized, or managed by Professor Ahmad Muhammed Gumel and should be completely disregarded. It stressed that the Vice-Chancellor-designate has no official Facebook page through which he engages the public on university-related matters.

Members of the public were strongly advised to remain vigilant, avoid interacting with the fake account, and refrain from sharing personal or financial information with individuals claiming to represent the Vice-Chancellor-designate via unofficial social media platforms.
The university reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the public from fraudulent activities and urged students, staff, and the general public to rely solely on verified and official communication channels of the Federal University Dutse for accurate and authentic information.
