FUNAAB Hosts iDICE Skills-to-Jobs Programme for Penultimate, Final-Year Students
The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), through the Directorate of Academic Information Systems (DACIS), has hosted the Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDICE) Skills-to-Jobs Programme for penultimate and final-year students of the University.

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), through the Directorate of Academic Information Systems (DACIS), has hosted the Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDICE) Skills-to-Jobs Programme for penultimate and final-year students of the University.
The programme, held on September 15, 2026, at the Professor Olusola Oyewole Lecture Theatre, was organised to expose students to opportunities for acquiring high-value digital skills and improve their prospects for employment and entrepreneurship in an increasingly competitive digital and creative economy.
Addressing the participants, the Director of DACIS, Prof. Olusegun Folorunso, highlighted the importance of acquiring relevant skills in view of the prevailing realities of the Nigerian labour market and the growing demand for digital competencies.
He stressed the need for students to take advantage of the iDICE initiative, while appreciating the University Management and the organisers for bringing the programme to FUNAAB.
Prof. Folorunso encouraged the students to make effective use of the opportunity, noting the importance of complementing their academic qualifications with practical skills that could enhance their employability after graduation.
Speaking at the programme, the State Liaison Officer for the Federal Government’s iDICE Programme, Mr. Diligent Adesola, urged the students to take seriously the information and opportunities being presented to them, challenging them with the question: “After school, what next?”
Mr. Adesola explained that the partnership with FUNAAB goes beyond creating awareness about the programme, noting that the University is being positioned as a learning hub where students can access the full training programme at no cost while pursuing their academic programmes.
He further announced that participating students would receive monthly stipends during the period of their training, subject to the terms of the programme.
Mr. Adesola also introduced the 12 skills available under the Skills-to-Jobs Programme, which included:
- Sales, Telemarketing and Lead Generation
- Customer Support
- AI Data and Evaluation
- UI/UX Design
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Copywriting, Content and SEO
- Product Management
- Digital Marketing and Ads
- Data Science
- Cybersecurity
- Software Testing
- Audio and Podcast Production
In his speech, the President of the Student Union Government (SUG), Com. Oluwatimileyin Soga, represented by the General Secretary, Com. Yusuf Ahmad, assured the participants of the commitment of the SUG to keeping students informed about the opportunities available through the programme.
Similarly, the President of the National Association of Agricultural Students (NAAS), FUNAAB Chapter, Com. Abdulrazaq Fawaz, appreciated the University Management and the iDICE initiative for prioritising students, particularly penultimate agricultural students undertaking their farming practice, as beneficiaries of the programme.
He encouraged the students to make good use of the opportunity.
The programme also featured an interactive session during which participants sought clarification on various aspects of the training and received responses from the organisers.
Students were subsequently assisted with the necessary tools and resources to commence their registration for the available courses.
