FULAFIA, FES Hold Roundtable on Just Transition in Nigeria

The Department of Political Science, Federal University of Lafia, FULAFIA, in collaboration with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, FES, on Wednesday held a one-day policy roundtable on advancing a just transition in Nigeria.

The event took place at the department’s boardroom and brought together academics and stakeholders to discuss strategies for achieving an inclusive and sustainable transition.

The Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. George A. Genyi, delivered the opening remarks.

The Vice-Chancellor of FULAFIA, Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Partnerships, Prof. Ibrahim Ogiri Hassan, at the occasion.

Speakers at the roundtable included Dr. Ochoga Edwin Ochoga, Dr. Ugonna Obi-Emeruwa, Dr. Ugwu Anthony Chinedu, Prof. A.I. Chukwuma Okoli and Prof. Ikenna Mike Alumona.

They examined issues including climate change, energy transition, energy poverty, human security, the green economy and the role of young people and universities in driving sustainable development.

The programme also featured an interactive question-and-answer session.

Dr. Ugwu Anthony Chinedu, the Head of Political Science Department, delivered the vote of thanks at the end of the event.
