FRSC Applauds ACU’s Support, Seeks Wider Road Safety Partnership

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Oyo Sector Command, led by its Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kehinde Dahunsi, has commended Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, for its continued support for the Command and its role in promoting road safety awareness in Oyo State.

Corps Commander Dahunsi made the commendation during a courtesy visit by the Sector Command to the management of Ajayi Crowther University, where he appreciated the institution for its continued support towards promoting road safety within its environment and the society at large.

Speaking during the visit, the Sector Commander expressed his appreciation to the University management for its support and commitment to the activities of the FRSC.

He said the visit was intended to appreciate the University for its continued cooperation and support for the Corps, particularly in ensuring road safety around the institution.

The Sector Commander noted that the University had also made its radio station available to the FRSC for regular road safety enlightenment programmes, describing the gesture as a significant contribution to public safety.

He encouraged the University to sustain and expand its support for FRSC activities through greater collaboration in areas such as road safety education, research, student engagement, media enlightenment and community sensitisation.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Olukayode Binuyo, welcomed the FRSC team to the University and reaffirmed the institution’s readiness to support the Corps in carrying out its road safety responsibilities.

The Vice-Chancellor acknowledged the significant contributions of the FRSC to society, particularly in the areas of road safety education and enlightenment, traffic law enforcement and ensuring that safety standards are maintained on the roads.

She further emphasised the University’s commitment to supporting initiatives that contribute to the safety and well-being of members of the University community and society at large.

The visit provided an opportunity for both institutions to explore avenues for strengthening their existing relationship and promoting greater awareness of road safety among students, staff and the wider community.
