Former Governing Council Chairman of Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, Alh. Abubakar Dantata, Passes Away

The management of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi has announced the passing of Alhaji Abubakar Dantata, the former Chairman of the institution’s 10th Governing Council.

According to an official statement from the Polytechnic, the respected elder statesman passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026. In accordance with Islamic rites, his remains have been laid to rest in Gombe.

Alhaji Dantata’s tenure as the head of the 10th Governing Council was marked by significant contributions to the administrative and infrastructural growth of the Polytechnic. His leadership was instrumental in navigating the institution through key development phases during his time in office.

The Polytechnic community has expressed deep sadness over the loss, praying that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings and grants him Al-Jannatul Firdaus. 

Staff, students, and alumni of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi have begun paying tributes to the late Chairman, describing him as a dedicated leader who was committed to the advancement of technical education in Northern Nigeria. 

Further details regarding condolence visits or a formal prayer session at the institution are expected to be announced by the Management in due course.
