Founder And Chief Executive Of ICTV24 News Pays Courtesy Visit To KIU Vice-Chancellor
The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ICTV24 News, Babagana Bukar Wakil Ngala, accompanied by members of his management team, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Kashim Ibrahim University, KIU, Professor Babagana Gutti, at the University's Senate Building. The visit was aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between ICTV24 News and the University, while exploring new areas of collaboration in media, education and public enlightenment.
Speaking during the visit, Babagana Bukar Wakil Ngala said the purpose of the visit was to deepen the partnership between ICTV24 News and Kashim Ibrahim University. He explained that ICTV24 News is a regional media organization with extensive coverage across Northern Nigeria, the Lake Chad Basin and the Sahel region, focusing on developmental journalism, education, peacebuilding, and security.
According to him, one of the core mandates of ICTV24 News is to counter the negative narratives associated with insurgency by promoting education, particularly among young people. He noted that the organization is committed to encouraging children and youths across Northern Nigeria to embrace formal education as a pathway to peace, development and prosperity.
Babagana further stated that ICTV24 News has remained at the forefront of campaigns against terrorism, violent extremism and other security challenges through responsible journalism and strategic public awareness programmes.
He disclosed that the media organization works closely with the Defence Headquarters, the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in promoting accurate information and supporting national efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability in the region.

He described Kashim Ibrahim University as one of the fastest-growing universities in Northern Nigeria, commending the remarkable transformation recorded under the leadership of Professor Babagana Gutti. He said the University's commitment to quality teaching, research, innovation and community service has positioned it among the emerging centres of academic excellence in the country.
Babagana observed that by providing access to quality higher education, the University is making a significant contribution to the fight against insurgency through human capital development. He noted that thousands of young people have graduated from the institution and are positively contributing to society, thereby reducing unemployment and promoting sustainable development.
The ICTV24 News Founder also announced that during the 16th Management Council Meeting of the organization, the Council unanimously approved the nomination of Professor Babagana Gutti for the ICTV24 News Vice-Chancellor of the Year Award 2026. He explained that the award was in recognition of the Vice-Chancellor's exceptional leadership, commitment to educational development, institutional reforms and outstanding contributions to the advancement of higher education in Northern Nigeria.
He further commended the University's Public Relations Unit for its professionalism and consistency in disseminating credible information, noting that no other institution provides timely and comprehensive news content to ICTV24 News in the manner Kashim Ibrahim University does. According to him, this has strengthened the cordial relationship between the media organization and the University over the years.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Babagana Gutti, warmly welcomed the ICTV24 News delegation and appreciated them for the visit and for recognizing the University's achievements. He assured the team of the University's continued support and commitment to sustaining a productive partnership that will promote education, research, innovation and positive media engagement.
Professor Gutti emphasized that education remains the most effective solution to the challenges of insurgency, insecurity, poverty and underdevelopment. He stressed that providing young people with quality education equips them with the knowledge, skills and opportunities needed to become productive members of society while discouraging them from engaging in violence and criminal activities.
The Vice-Chancellor informed the delegation that the University is currently conducting its second semester examinations and has continued to expand its academic programmes, admission capacity and infrastructure in order to provide greater access to quality higher education for qualified candidates across Nigeria.
Professor Gutti reaffirmed the University's unwavering commitment to supporting the Borno State Government and the Federal Government in promoting peace through education. He expressed gratitude for the ICTV24 News Vice-Chancellor of the Year Award 2026 and dedicated the recognition to the University's Management.
He stated that the honour reflects the collective efforts and dedication of the entire University community, adding that the achievements recorded by the institution have been made possible through teamwork, commitment and the shared vision of transforming Kashim Ibrahim University into one of Nigeria's leading centres of academic excellence.
