From Campus to the Military: FUBK Alumnus Joins Nigerian Army as Second Lieutenant

The Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) has once again recorded a milestone as one of its alumni, Oyebade Michael Ayomipo joined the Nigerian Army after as Second Lieutenant.

The commissioning ceremony, which took place on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, marked the culmination of years of dedication and discipline for the young officer.

Oyebade earned his degree in Sociology at FUBK in the 2020/2021 academic session, graduating among the top students of his class. While excelling academically, he was equally committed to leadership and service. He served as the General Secretary of the National Sociological and Anthropological Students’ Association (NSASA), FUBK Chapter, and was widely known across campus as the official cameraman and Director of Media and Production for the FUBK Campus Press, where he contributed immensely to documenting the University’s events.
