FUE Zaria Implements Biometric Attendance for TVET Programme Participants

In compliance with federal mandates for transparency in skill acquisition programmes, the Federal University of Education, Zaria (FUE Zaria), has officially commenced biometric capturing for all participants of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme.

The exercise, coordinated by the Directorate of Skills Development and Linkages (DSD&L), represents a significant shift toward data-driven monitoring of vocational training within the institution.

The move follows a directive from the Federal Ministry of Education to ensure the integrity of the programme’s attendance and funding. Under the new protocol:

Dr. Amina Sani, the Director of the DSD&L, is leading the exercise at the university. She urged all participants to cooperate fully with the biometric teams and ensure their attendance is captured promptly during every session to avoid delays in their monthly stipends or potential disqualification from the programme.

This initiative reinforces FUE Zaria’s commitment to becoming a hub for Technical and Vocational Education in the North-West, aligning with the national goal of empowering youth through verifiable skill development.
