FUE Zaria VC Hosts UK FCDO-PLANE Delegation to Discuss Strategic Education Partnerships

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria (FUE Zaria), Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, received a delegation from the Kano State branch of the UK-funded Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) – Partnership for Learning for All in Nigerian Education (PLANE) on a courtesy visit to his office.
The delegation was led by the Kano State Team Lead, Umar Lawan, and included members Haj. Sadiyya Adamu, Haj. Umma Muhammad Rakana, and Adeyinka Timothy.
Welcoming the visitors, Prof. Bunkure expressed appreciation for the initiative, commending FCDO-PLANE for its efforts in improving learning outcomes, supporting teacher training, establishing community-based learning hubs, and strengthening education delivery across Nigeria.
He emphasized that FUE Zaria, as a specialized institution for teacher education, remains open to partnerships that enhance capacity building, innovation, and sustainable development in teaching and learning.
In his remarks, Umar Lawan thanked the Vice-Chancellor for the warm reception and explained that the visit was aimed at familiarizing the PLANE team with the University while exploring areas of mutual interest and potential collaboration, particularly in teacher education and educational development.
The Acting Registrar of the University, Alh. Shehu Iya Sa’idu, was also present during the reception.
