The Federal University of Environment and Technology (FUET), Koroma Tai/Saakpenwa, has announced the acquisition of two coaster buses to enhance student mobility between its Saakpenwa and Koroma campuses.
The buses, recently delivered to the University, are designated to convey students across the two campuses, with particular priority given to students residing in the hostels. The development is part of ongoing efforts to improve welfare, accessibility, and safety within the University community.
Speaking on the initiative, the University Management described the acquisition as a practical response to students’ transportation needs and a step towards creating a more conducive academic environment.
Under the leadership of the Pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Prince Chinedu Mmom, DSSRS, the University has continued to implement student-focused interventions aimed at strengthening institutional operations and campus life. Prof. Mmom, a former Commissioner for Education in Rivers State, has consistently emphasised efficiency, planning, and proactive governance in the University’s formative years.
The provision of the coaster buses underscores the University’s commitment to easing inter-campus movement and supporting students’ academic activities as FUET continues to build its infrastructure and operational systems.
