The Management of Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has unveiled the lineup of activities for its 8th Convocation Ceremony, celebrating the academic achievements of the 13-year-old institution. The event is set to take place from Monday, October 21 to Sunday, October 27, 2024, with various events aimed at honouring graduands, awarding degrees, and celebrating the institution’s milestones.

In a statement issued by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Dr. Rebecca Aimiohu Okojie, the ceremony will feature the awarding of Honorary, First, Higher Degrees, Diplomas, and the presentation of prizes. 

The programme will commence on Monday, October 21 with a Press Conference led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, at the University Council Chamber, Felele Campus, followed by the 2nd Annual Colloquium in honour of Professor Olu Obafemi, a distinguished scholar and Nigerian National Order of Merit Awardee.

On Tuesday, October 22, the university will celebrate its Founder’s Day at the College of Health Sciences. The following day, Wednesday, October 23, will feature a Research Fair and Exhibition, along with a Procession Rehearsal for key university staff and all graduating students.

The highlight of Thursday, October 24, will be a Convocation Lecture delivered by Nahzeem Olufemi Mimiko, former Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, titled "Nigerian Educational Sector: Issues and Challenges." Other exciting events, including a convocation play, will cap the day’s activities.
