FUL Seeks Partnership with Nigeria Customs Service on Human Capital Development
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, on Friday, December 1, 2023, led some members of his management team on a working visit to the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi at Customs Headquarters, Wuse Zone 3.
Explaining the purpose of the visit, the Vice-Chancellor said it was to partner with the Customs Service on human capital development in the areas of the core mandate of the Nigeria Customs Service.
He invited the CGC to mobilise his officers to take advantage of some of the cutting-edge professional programmes being offered by Federal University Lokoja in its Abuja Study Centre.
Professor Akinwumi assured the CGC that, apart from boasting of globally acclaimed scholars, the courses offer unique advantages such as accessibility, affordability, and timely completion.
Additionally, the Vice-Chancellor urged the Customs Service to assist the University in the provision of vehicles and other corporate social responsibilities.
Responding, the CGC commended the Vice-Chancellor for his drive and passion. He gave assurance that the Customs Service would partner with Federal University Lokoja in order to help the University attain its vision.
He further assured that the Nigeria Customs Service would patronise the courses of the University and urged the Vice-Chancellor to collaborate with his organisation in other areas of capacity building such as training workshops and seminars.
The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied on the visit by the Registrar, Dr Rebecca Okojie; the Bursar, Mr. John Shilo; and the Provost, College of Postgraduate Studies, Professor Gbenga Ibileye.
