FULafia to Get Federal Government's Intervention on Flooding, Says SGF Akume

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has assured that the Federal Government will address the recurring flood challenges at the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia). He expressed concern over the devastating impact of floods on properties during rainy seasons across the country.  

Akume gave this assurance during a meeting with the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of FULafia’s Governing Council, Hon. (Mrs.) Lola Fibisola Akande. The meeting was held at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) in Abuja.

In her remarks, Hon. Akande lamented the damage caused by floods at FULafia and appealed to the SGF to use his office to provide a lasting solution. She presented photographs of flood-affected areas within the university and outlined a proposed plan for addressing the problem.

Visibly moved by the images, Senator Akume promised swift action to mitigate the situation before the next rainy season.  

Hon. Akande was accompanied to the meeting by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Partnerships, Prof. Sama’ila Usman Dakyes.
