FULafia VC Emphasizes Importance of Soft Skills for Effective Leadership

Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), has stressed the importance of soft skills for effective leadership.
Speaking at a one-day colloquium for Provosts, Deans, and Directors, Abdul Rahman noted that soft skills, such as communication, leadership, teamwork, and time management, are essential for success in the modern workplace.
Abdul Rahman emphasized that employers now place greater value on soft skills, as they complement technical proficiency and enhance overall job performance and career advancement. He encouraged leaders to work on improving their soft skills, particularly in areas such as humility, honesty, patience, integrity, transparency, accountability, consistency, and efficiency.
The colloquium featured presentations from other notable speakers, including Professor Francisca Oladipo, Vice-Chancellor of Thomas Adewumi University, and Professor Usman Ibrahim from Ahmadu Bello University. The event aimed to promote intellectual development and strategic leadership among university administrators.
