FULOKOJA Health Services Marks International Condom Day with Awareness Event

The Federal University Lokoja (FUL) Health Services, in collaboration with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) and the Kogi State Ministry of Health, commemorated International Condom Day on February 13.

The event aimed to promote safe sex practices and raise awareness about the importance of condom use in preventing unwanted pregnancies and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs).

The celebration kicked off with a health walk through the town, where participants distributed free condoms and engaged with the local community. The walk emphasized the importance of safe sex education and the need to break the stigma surrounding condom use.

Following the health walk, participants gathered at the University Auditorium of the College of Health Sciences, Adankolo Campus, for a series of engaging activities. These included interactive games, health education sessions, and practical demonstrations on correct condom use. Experts also addressed common myths and misconceptions about condoms.

 

The event ensured that the university community had access to free condoms, promoting a safer and healthier environment. By partnering with AHF and the Kogi State Ministry of Health, FUL Health Services demonstrated its commitment to promoting sexual health awareness and education among its students .
