FUNAAB Holds Maiden Matriculation Ceremony for Affiliated Degree Students

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) on November 26, 2025, conducted its first-ever Matriculation Ceremony for students enrolled in affiliated Degree programmes at the Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan (FCAIB).

Addressing the students, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, emphasized FUNAAB’s commitment to academic excellence, character development, and industry-relevant training. He described the event as a historic milestone formally welcoming the students into the FUNAAB academic community.

Prof. Kehinde highlighted that matriculation marks the start of a transformative journey, equipping students with knowledge, skills, and values to excel in a competitive global environment. He described it as “a significant rite of passage, filled with learning, self-discovery, challenges, and meaningful transformation,” assuring students they have joined an institution defined by integrity, innovation, and leadership.

The Vice-Chancellor also expressed gratitude to parents and guardians for entrusting their wards to FUNAAB through the FCAIB affiliation programme, pledging the University’s commitment to providing a supportive academic and personal environment.

In his charge, Prof. Kehinde encouraged students to embrace opportunities with dedication, uphold the University’s standards, and prepare to contribute to national development and the global community. He congratulated them on reaching this academic milestone and reaffirmed the commitment of both FUNAAB and FCAIB to their success.

The ceremony was officiated by the Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi, with the presence of Academic Coordinators from FCAIB and Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), Professors Christopher Alake and Emmanuel Idehen, and FUNAAB Students’ Union Government President, Comrade Olamilekan Michael.
