The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta has announced the commencement of applications for the second cohort of its 2026 AGRECOfarm Training Programme, aimed at equipping farmers, students, and agripreneurs with practical knowledge in sustainable and climate-smart agriculture.

The two-day intensive training, scheduled to hold from May 13 to 14, 2026, will focus on modern agroecological practices, including soilless farming, hydroponics, nutrient management, composting, and integrated pest management.

Organisers disclosed that the programme is designed to bridge the gap between conventional farming methods and emerging sustainable agricultural technologies, particularly in the face of climate change and growing food security concerns.

According to the organisers, participants will receive hands-on training with real equipment demonstrations, with about 80 per cent of the sessions dedicated to practical learning. The programme will also adopt a simplified learning structure without formal examinations to encourage wider participation and easier knowledge transfer.
