FUNAAB Warns Public of Fraudulent Social Media Accounts Impersonating Vice-Chancellor

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has issued a public notice warning the general public of fraudulent Facebook and LinkedIn accounts impersonating its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Babatunde Kehinde.

The university has identified several fake accounts created by online scammers, which falsely present images of the Vice-Chancellor in official and academic regalia.

The impersonator behind these accounts has been sending friend requests and engaging the public via messages, falsely offering job opportunities, contracts, and laptop supplies. FUNAAB has clarified that it does not conduct recruitment, award contracts, or offer official opportunities via social media platforms.

The university advises the public to be vigilant and disregard any messages or requests from these fraudulent accounts. If in doubt, individuals are encouraged to contact the Directorate of Public Relations, FUNAAB, for verification and clarification. FUNAAB has also called on Facebook and LinkedIn to remove the fake accounts to protect the public from further deception.
