FUTH Lafia Seeks Stronger Collaboration with FULafia

The Federal University Teaching Hospital (FUTH), Lafia, has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening partnership with the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia).

This commitment was made by the Chief Medical Director of FUTH, Dr Ikrama Hassan, when he led members of his management team on a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, in his office at Lafia.

Dr Ikrama said that the visit was made to congratulate Kida on his recent appointment as the fourth Vice-Chancellor of the University.

He described the relationship between FUTH and FULafia as inseparable, likening the relationship between institutions to that of Siamese babies.

He said that "the teaching hospital serves as a practical laboratory for the University, particularly for students in the medical and health sciences."

He described FULafia's College of Medicine as a critical component in the development of the University, calling for the strengthening of the FULafia–FUTH Joint Development Committee to further enhance collaboration.

In his response, Kida expressed his appreciation to the chief medical director and his team for the visit, commending the hospital’s management for the progress recorded.

He described the FULafia College of Medicine as a priority for his administration, assuring the team of the University's continued support.

Members of the CMD’s delegation included Dr Ahmed Muhammad Wada, Director of Administration, Mrs Ene Susan Davis, Director of Finance and Accounts, Dr Alex Angblaga, Deputy Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee, and Badamasi Muhammad Haruna, Chief Protocol Officer.
